My STORY

Let me share with you the story of how I came to creating this art.
You can listen to it as well, if you would like to hear my voice.

I grew up in an elegant family in northern Slovakia, with love for sculptural art since my early childhood. In my grandparents' house, full of beautiful statues and porcelain, I liked to play with these objects. The first sculptural creations that sparked my artistic curiosity were, however, archeological findings of ancient figurines of Venuses. Even as a child, I felt there was something extraordinary about them. Even though their form didn't always look perfect, they were powerful, honest pieces of art, perfect in their own way. At that time, I was around twelve years old, and I was attending pottery classes in a charming art nouveau mansion. For me, that house was inspiring by itself, and I believe that its graceful shapes influenced my perception of beauty. Art nouveau has been my most admired art style, and I especially loved the works of Alphonse Mucha, whose posters once used to hang in nearly every household in my country.

In this beautiful environment I started my first explorations of the clay. Later, when I was on high school, I started creating my first little statues. I still have them kept, and it seems to me, that even then, they already had this unique character that is visible in my creations today. At that time, I was deeply interested in mythology, spirituality and mysticism. I was studying teachings of many cultures and exploring my own ways of expression and devotion. I had come to understanding, that the true core of teachings of many cultures leads towards connection with the Divine within ourselves. My explorations continued during my university studies. I got a degree in therapeutical education, with specialization on art therapy. Within these studies, I learnt about the healing properties of the clay. Even though it may seem to be a very simple and ordinary material, its character is profound, healing, primordial. I learnt that art therapy can be both expressive and receptive. It means that even though the creation of an art piece can be beneficial to our well-being, so can be the contact with a complete piece of art. After this understanding, another layer of the nature of clay statues uncovered for me.

After I graduated and got married, my husband and I moved to countryside. There I finally had the necessary peace to dive into my own creative process. I started with small clay sculptures of Goddesses, inspired by ancient archeological findings. Most of them were inspired by the Mother Goddess of the past and I created them mostly for women that were exploring the popular topic of sacred feminine. Over time, as my statues were evolving, and I started creating wider variety of them, something interesting started to happen.

Women, who owned there statues, started telling me about the profound healing experiences, they had with them. The clay Goddesses seemed to be connected to their relationship with their body. Symbolically, clay is the primal material of the Earth, and there is a parallel between clay, Earth and our physical body. This deeper mystical meaning had revealed a whole another level of purpose of my art. Women loved touching these statues and experienced various harmonizing effects. It initiated or supported restoration of their relationship with their body, building the sense of self-acceptance, safety, and sacredness of their body and themselves as a whole. They intuitively polished the statues with essential oils, slept with them at night, spoke to them, carried them around and brought them to places, that were significant to them. They perceived these sculptures as if they were alive. They have become the gateways for healing and projection, that was beneficial to their owners. It all happened naturally, and my part was to create these Goddesses with utmost care and love, in the highest quality of materials, that I was able to obtain. Later, my customers - both male and female, used these sculptures as focal objects in their sacred spaces. They served as an anchor for the sense of tranquility, harmony and sacredness of their special place, whether it was their home or their workspace. The particular character and archetype, that they picked for their statue, always carried a profound meaning to them. It was not an idol to worship, but a reminder, a companion, a mirror of their own inner self and its qualities, that they wanted to enhance.

Even though my statues got bigger and exclusive over time, I always wanted to maintain their tactile availability. It is a quality, that is important to me as I feel, that the touch is a profound gateway for experiencing beauty. The graceful shapes of my sculptures are naturally inviting to it, and my approach towards any luxury item is to fully enjoy it. Whether it is a porcelain dish set, silver cutlery, or an exclusive sculpture. I believe, that the purpose of all these things is to support and inspire us. To help us feel content and to enjoy the exploration of our infinite potential.

Today, my sculptures adorn both private and public spaces, especially those intended for relax, healing and gatherings. They are decorated with genuine gold and silver leaf, and natural gemstones of jewelery quality. Their shapes have reached extraordinary variety and I am always curious where will my inspiration lead me next. My hope for the future is to naturally upgrade them in their shape, size and energetic quality. They are evolving with me and they mirror the nuances of my own authentic path.

Thank you.
